“Come
and Drink"
“And the Spirit
and the Bride say, ‘Come.’ And let him that
hears say, ‘Come.’ And let him that is thirsty
come. And, whosoever will, let him take the
water of life freely.”
Revelation 22:17
There’s a
tugging in my heart today
For a place I’ve
never been;
It’s a place
that’s fairer than any land—
A place with no
sickness or sin.
I’m told there
is no suffering
In that place
not made with hands,
There’ll be no
tears, sorrow or death
In Heaven—God’s
eternal and perfect land.
For now, our
journey’s rocky and steep
And we’re
tempted to give up,
But when we
think of the joy that awaits us,
We say,
“Oh let me drink from the Master’s cup.”
Yes, the
Master’s waiting to dry our tears
And quench our
thirsty hearts
By giving us a
drink from His cup of eternal life
That’s
sufficient from the very start.
To drink from
His cup is by invitation only—
For those who
have turned from sin;
Only those who
believe may drink from this cup
And into God’s
Kingdom enter in.
To those who are
lonely, the Lord says “Come;”
To those who are
thirsty He pleads,
“Come and drink
from My cup and you’ll discover for sure
My living water
is all you’ll ever need.”
Oh, come to His
fountain, oh weary one;
Yes, come and
drink from His water so sweet.
If you come as a
child, taking Jesus as Lord,
You’ll discover
life so meaningfully complete.
“Come now and
drink,”
the Master says
To those so arid
in soul;
Drink once from
His cup and you’ll never thirst again
As His love
transforms you and makes you whole.
