Comparisons are a part of life
In persons, experiences and things;
We size them up and give them labels
As "worthless" or "quite something."
So often the worth of a prize
Is the "value" we impose;
Sometimes it's priceless and highly esteemed,
While other times we frown and turn up a nose.
The same too often is true with others
To whom we relate in life-
Sometimes they're close and called a friend,
While others are despised and only gender strife.
Yet, such is never the case, we know
When we talk of the Father up above-
For He yearns to give to each and every one
His free and unconditional love.
His love is not biased
Or reserved for some select few;
It's given freely to all who believe
And trust that He will see them through.
"What manner of love is this?" we ask
As we reflect on this amazing grace;
"How could a God demonstrate such love
To every nation, creed and race?"
It's because He was willing to give His only begotten Son
On the Cross so long ago,
That we could be freed from all our sins and guilt
By the Savior, Who truly loves us so.
No one has ever loved us like
This One Who gave us His all;
Let us, therefore, surrender our lives to Him
By Whose Name, "Jesus," we do call.
