“Of
This I Am Sure"
“. . .for I know
Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is
able to keep that which I have committed unto
Him against that day.”
II
Timothy 1:12b
Our lives
are filled with ups and downs
With fears on
every hand;
We search for
security and peace of mind
When our
foundations feel like shifting sand.
We look to the
armies to keep us safe
And local police
to guard the night;
But still within
we feel so insecure
In spite of
their displays of might.
That’s why in
Christ we must place our faith
And cast on Him
our care—
For in those
hours when others may fail us,
Why Jesus is
always there!
His power is
greater than the world’s greatest threat;
His peace—it’s
oh so sublime!
When others are
fearful and losing hope
For me, in
Christ, it’s “trusting time.”
When on dear
Jesus we cast all our cares
And are
convinced that He is able,
We will not fear
what the future will bring—
For in Him we’re
always stable.
For now in our
world there’s much unrest,
With wars on
every side;
But if in Christ
we place our trust,
All our worries
so quickly subside.
How wonderful it
is to know the Lord
And the peace He
alone can bring;
It secures our
minds when others are losing theirs
And helps us in
the night to sing.
Let others look
to armies
Or so many other
manmade devices;
Of this I am
sure as I live each day:
It’s Christ Who
keeps me in crises.
