Brother Tom's Sermons

"And Jesus came and touched them and said,  'Arise, and be not afraid'."
Matthew 17:7

“Touch Me, O God”
It seems the longer that I live
The less touching that I do;
Appointments here, meetings there-
Why I never seem to ever get through.

But, in my heart I yearn to know
That I'm loved and able to freely love;
And that's why I'm so very needy right now
For a touch from My Savior up above.

No one can touch a heart like Him-
This Stranger from Galilee,
For in His touch there's such great power. . .
Far more than the eye can see.

For those who are lonely it's the touch of a Friend
Who'll never leave our side;
For those who are frightened it's the touch of our Protector,
To Whom we can run and hide.

For those who are filled with sorrow
It's the touch of a loving Shepherd,
Who'll heal our hurts and restore our joy
With the sweetest words we've ever heard.

Yes, I need a fresh touch from the Master today,
For so often my heart is dry;
I need to feel His reviving love
That can only come from on High.

Oh, touch me now, dear Jesus, I pray
And renew my hope and peace;
Help me to rest in Your all-sufficient grace
That will never depart or cease.

And, oh dear Lord, help me this day
To be used as You do choose-
To touch others with Your redeeming Love,
A loving touch they'll not be able to refuse.
